  1. Charles Darwin said that in order to survive in this forever changing would you must be able to adapt to it. By doing thins you go through what is called natural selection. Natural selection is where in order to evolve you pick the best traits to breed into a better organism that can survive the new changes. That is ex-actually what these organisms did. In the bottom of the ocean where it was pitch black, there were organisms that glowed. In the video he explained that there glowing skin was due to evolution an it was use to catch pray, hypnosis and to scare predators. In the shallow parts of the water the fish and squid adapted to use camouflage to blend into objects near them such as choral. But doing that they were able to catch pry and hide from predators.

  2. Evolution is described as change over time. The animals in this video have used the process of natural selection to change their characteristics over time. This has been made possible because the organisms with the less adequate characteristics have died off, leaving the organisms with the more preferable characteristics to survive. In the video, the squid could change color to blend in with his surroundings so that he could not be seen by predators. Also, the organisms living in the deepest, darkest part of the ocean were able to glow to attract prey. All of the animals in the video had something in common; they all had unique features that helped them survive, and they all have undergone the process of evolution to get and better those qualities. When it all comes down to it, organisms change through evolution all for the purpose of bettering themselves and increasing their life span.

When studying evolution, you learn that organisms have to be able to adapt to their habitat or else they won't be able to survive. If an organism can't adapt to their surroundings, they could be attacked by enemies. The animals that are talked about in this video are a good example of fitting in to their environment. They all have unique ways of adapting. For example, the octopus could disguise itself to look like the algae. The octopus also could look like a rock on the ocean floor. All of the animals in the video could glow in the dark because they all lived in the dark, ocean floor. This ability to glow helped them be able to attract prey and to scare the predators and make them think they're scarier than they actually are.

  5. It is very interesting to see how organisms have evolved over time. The change is necesary in order to keep them alive. The organisms in the sea have adapted in order to stay alive because of the many dangers they face. They have to find a way to protect themselves from other sea creatures and compete for food. Some of the organisms are able to camoflage themselves in order to hide from predators or to be able to attack their prey. Camoflage is a great protector for these organisms because they can blend in with the scenery on the ocean floor. Some of the organisms shown are also able to change color. These few changes have been able to keep these organisms alive and I think as time goes on they will evolve even more.

  6. Evolution is described as a gradual process in which something changes into a different form that is usually more complex. In this video the animals adapted to their surroundings by using the process called natural selection. This process allows organisms to choose the best characteristics to evolve into something better and survive with the changes. The animals that were apart of video all showed unique and interesting ways of adapting. The octopus could disguise itself to look like algae or like a rock on the ocean floor in order to fit into its environment. The squid could change color in order to fit in and not be seen by unwanted predators. Also the animals lived in the deepest and darkest part of the ocean which gave them the ability to glow. This allowed them to attract prey. So, basically evolution allows organisms to become more unique to better themselves and allow them to survive with a greater chance.

Evolution is the process of organisms changing over time. Natural selection allows animals to adapt their characteristics to improve their safety. The octopus cyanea changes its physical appearance so they are not visible to possible threats. Male squids turn white when they are defensive or when they are going to fight. This allows other male squids to be cautious about approaching the squid. Cuttle fish make their tentacles look like algae so they can disguise theirselves. Octopus use the "moving rock trick" to appear as if they were a rock on the ocean floor. Their speed never exceeds the speed of the waves, this causes them to blend in identically with the rocks.

  9. Evolution is the process in which organisms change over time. Different organisms adapt to their specific environments. In the video, the squid will change its skin tone to white when face to face with another male. This shows it's aggressive attitude so it can mate and reproduce. Then when it is with a female, it shows its regular skin tone to show he is calm and ready to mate, but on the side she can't see, he shows the white color to fend off any competition. The octopus can make an easy prey for a dominant hunter like the barracuda, so it has adapted to where it has the ability to blend it with its environment. This hides the animal to keep it from becoming a meal. It has adapted this ability over time so it doesn't make such an easy prey

  10. In this video, it shows the vast ways many organisms can change to adapt to their environment. Ted shows how many octopuses change their color, texture, brightness and many other factors to blend in from predators. Evolution has made these creatures evolve to the point of being completely camouflaged into their surroundings. The video shows how exotic and wild the evolution of these animals truly is. These organisms would not be able to survive without evolution. Natural selection however has made these organism "the fittest", a theory proposed by Charles Darwin. It is said that survival of the fittest is those organisms who can better adapt to changes in their environment. In the video, it showed a vast and plant less area with very few algae. The octopus quickly managed to change color and texture to perfectly match the algae plant when a predator was in sight. If the octopus did not do this, it would have been attacked. Therefore, evolution of the octopus was for the best.

The organisms in the video give clear evidence of Evolution in the animal kingdom. Evolution by definition would be the gradual change of something over time. The organisms in the beginning of the video have adapted to perform bioluminescence, which benefits the organism is many ways. The organisms could use their adaptation to attract prey or scare away predators. The octopus is also a great example of evolution. The ability of the octopus to change skin color and hide itself is a feat that was developed over millions of years, or in other words a gradual change over time which is the definition of evolution. The ability to camouflage itself so well has helped the octopus hunt prey and also survive from predators. It is a survival tool for the octopus, just like the ability to spray ink.

  12. Evolution is the process where a organism gain new traits or loses them to survive more efficiently in their habitat. The organisms in the video have learned to adapt to their surrounding habitats to stay clear of predators. They have gained these traits through natural selection, basically the best fitted in their environment out lived the others. This also helps them to prey on other organisms through camouflaging themselves. In the video, the octopus disguised itself as a rock on the see floor, and just let the currents move it. The squid changed its color to white to let the other male squid know it was aggressive and ready to attack. These traits were all inherited to enhance the organisms chances of survival.

  13. Evolution is the process of which an organism changes into a different and usually more complex and better form. The organisms in the video had to evolve to adapt to their surrounding. They change to hide from predators. They also can change form to prey on other organisms. For examble in the video the octopus could blend in and look like every other rock on the ocean floor or disguise themselves as algae. The animals that lived in the deep, dark part of the ocean could make themselves light up to attract prey. All the organisms had specific qualities to help them survive in their environment all because they have evolved.

  14. Evolution throughout these organisms is remarkable. How the octopus could camouflage himself as the algae. These animals have evolved themselves to be able to survive their environment. They have to be able to adapt or they won't survive in their ecosystem. If they fail to keep their 'family' alive, they will eventually die out. Natural selection applies in the way where you have to evolve and the organisms breed so they can survive the new environments. In order to evolve they have to keep growing and reproducing so they can keep living.

  16. The theory of evolution describes a process in which creatures evolve and mutate. This process occurs in order to increase the animal's chances of survivial and productivity. Animals tranform themselves and blend into their surroundings. This allows them to capture their prey or hide themselves from predators. They evolve or adapt so they can protect themselves and improve their chances of surviving through camouflage. These advantages of adaptation allow these creatures to survive and thrive in their environment. Animals like chameleons use camouflage to blend into their environment.

  17. Evolution is the change of a species over an extended period of time. Evolution must occur to help a species survive and adapt to their surroundings. For example, the octopus in the video uses a form of camouflage to help it blend into the surrounding environment so it can protect itself from predators. Another example is the fish that are located in the lowest point of the oceans. These fish actually glow and use that characteristic for multiple reasons, such as defending themselves and helping to catch food. Characteristics such as these help provide evidence that evolution has occurred and has helped the species survive longer. Evolution is necessary for further prosperity and a higher survival rate of a species.

  18. The animals in the video are a prime example of evolution. The way the octopus could change its color and texture to match the surroundings to avoid predators is key to their survival. The cuddle fish can hide by backing into the algae, making they're tentacles seem as if they were just algae. If these animals didn't evolve they wouldn't be able to protect themselves and would surely die off. This is why evolution is so important in these organisms.
